With leaders like these, who needs enemies?
Political madness
Goodness me, what a week Covid’s been having with our leaders. While the rest of us have been picking our six favourite people to hang out with to try not to spread Coronavirus, politicians seem to have lost the plot.
(Scottish) SNP MP Margaret Ferrier inexplicably:
-Caught the train down to London two days after developing Coronavirus symptoms to go speak in Parliament
- Spoke in the House of Commons despite the fact she was awaiting her test result
- Tested positive that night
- then took public transport (?!) to go home the next morning
- didn’t tell her party that she was positive until 2 days after her result
All on the background of cases in Scotland rising and tighter restrictions due to be imposed shortly.
Across the pond
Meanwhile in America, @POTUS has truly outdone himself in the latest show of nonsense but becoming a superspreader?? I know I shouldn’t be surprised after seeing the rallies, the mask-bashing and general Covid denial but for some reason I thought they had some kind of measures to protect themselves if they weren’t doing the basics?! But of all the people associated with this mess, it’s the 2 housekeeping staff at the White House who tested positive that feel the most tragic.
And the cherry on that cake of badness?
- Trump leaving hospital whilst being treated for actual Covid to do one of his weird meet and greets
- Then getting into a car with said Covid and potentially infecting his staff who were basically sat in an unventilated box in close proximity to him
- And that awful grand finale – the helicopter video, the panting on the balcony and telling everyone he was probably immune.
I think these folk are in need of some guidance. Luckily, here’s one I made earlier: https://bit.ly/LiftingLockdownGPGuide
